New Boxing Sim the Focus of Latest Don King Hyperbole

2K Sports announced it is developing Don King Presents: Prizefighter, a boxing sim for the Xbox 360, Wii, and DS. GamePro quotes King as saying, “In all my years working in professional boxing, I have never seen anything come as close to re-creating the thrill, the intensity, the courage and the spectacle of the sport.” That from a man who’s notoriously low-key and reserved when it comes to hyping things.

IGN says that beyond simple button-mashing mayhem in the ring, the game will be about players creating a character and “overcoming adversity, avoiding temptation, and balancing their commitments to train and promote, all while focusing on the goal of ultimately winning and defending the title belt.”

So like The Sims, but with punching.

Prizefighter (I heretofore refuse to call it by its full name) is scheduled for a spring 2008 release.
