PSP Gets a Solar-Powered Battery

Users of Sony’s Playstation Portable may finally be motivated to venture outdoors because of a third-party battery that claims to be fully rechargeable through the power of the sun. DealExtreme has the little gem for the low, low price of $28.76 with free shipping. An informal poll (I asked some people next to me) indicates that of the few ways to get gamers to go out in the sunlight, the solar-powered battery ranks second only to Comic-Con being held during the day.

There are currently no reviews on the site, so there’s no word there on whether the thing will blow up or melt in your hands, but this is probably one of those cases where no news is good news. A very quick, very cursory Google search reveals nothing along those lines, either, so if you have one of these or plan to get one, let us know what it’s all about. We’ve all heard horror stories of malfunctioning third-party batteries, so let’s hope this isn’t one of those.
