Far Cry 2 Micro-Trailer, Ubisoft Just Wanted to Brag
    Wednesday, January 23rd, 2008

    Quick, shoot! It’s a zebra … and a field … ?
Far Cry 2 is months off but Ubisoft is already bragging about their new graphics engine. It really is the most phenomenal-looking, uh, grass I’ve ever seen in a game. The 45-seconds of scenery contains no gameplay though. Keep watching for more trailers […]

New Turok Trailer: Knife to a Gunfight
    Wednesday, January 23rd, 2008

The newest Turok trailer is DULL! Gameplay looks smooth, but is a sniper video supposed to keep us interested?
Speaking of not intereting, the graphics don’t measure up to Gears of War either. When Turok launches on Feb 5, 2008 (PS3, Xbox 360, and PC) I’ll still be in line for it. Where else […]

Already Bought Undertow? Grab 800 Free Microsoft Points
    Tuesday, January 22nd, 2008

Grab 800 not-quite-free Microsoft Points from 1-800-4MY-XBOX. Microsoft started giving away Undertow downloads as a cover-their-butts freebie to make up for the holiday Xbox Live outages.
It’s not exactly a blockbuster game, but it’s free to everyone and nice for those of us who never saw any outages because we’d gorged ourselves on pie and were […]

First Goldeneye video leak, Release still Canceled
    Tuesday, January 22nd, 2008

Now that the Xbox Live version of Goldeneye has been halted the first leak in the wall of secrecy is above. Maybe some developer or laid-off game tester is ticked off that their work will never go live - maybe some fanboy just wants to screw with all of us. Regardless, we’re posting […]

Bionic Commando Rearmed Brings the Gameplay, some 3D, more Gameplay Sweetness
    Sunday, January 20th, 2008

Bionic Commando is a classic 2D-scrolling shooter (and puncher, thrower, bionic armer…) from the 8-bit arcade and Nintendo consoles. Just announced by Capcom is the 3D Bionic Commando Reloaded on Xbox Live Arcade and the Playstation Network. Still a side-scroller, the gameplay looks sweet and the 3D maps and characters are killer.
    Check the video preview […]

Xbox Live Makes Amends With … Undertow?
    Friday, January 18th, 2008

The make-good for that pesky Xbox Live debacle is finally here, and it’s a fine prize, particularly for those of us who didn’t have any XBL problems. Free game for nothing? I’ll take it.
Xbox Live members — gold and silver alike — will be able to download the full version of the submerged shooter […]

Rock Band Weekly Track Updates: Blink 182, plus The Monkees & Sweet (both covers)
    Tuesday, January 15th, 2008

Three individual Rock Band song downloads Tuesday for Xbox 360 and Thursday for PS3. All three of these are about $2 each. All three are a bit more upbeat than last week’s update:

Blink 182’s “All the Small Things“
The Monkees’ “Last Train to Clarksville” (cover)
    Sweet’s “Action” (cover)

Impending: Duke Nukem 3D coming to Xbox Live soon
    Tuesday, January 15th, 2008

    Come get some!
“Sources” report that the release of Duke Nukem 3D as an Xbox LIVE Arcade title may happen soon. From where I sit it can’t happen soon enough, but I’ll settle for a few more months. With the multiplayer upgrades it should be a blast:
And best of all, it’ll feature a four-player online cooperative […]

    No Turok demo for You
    Tuesday, January 15th, 2008

Xbox 360 gets the free Turok downloadable game demo today. This sequel of the classic series is a big 1.17 GB download (these things are starting to make me wish I bought the bigger drive for my 360). It’s available in Europe. Australia too. And Asia. Not for you though.
Major Nelson posted the availability. No […]

    First Highlander game trailer
    Tuesday, January 15th, 2008

I don’t know anything about the Highlander game, but I’m already disappointed.
Unlike its main characters the game won’t last very long. All the movie fans and immortality fanboys will push this up the top-seller lists for a week or two, followed by a mercifully quick drop off. That’s to be expected when a […]

Is Xbox LIVE Up? Microsoft Can’t Say
    Monday, January 14th, 2008

Major Nelson has been gagged. Along with every other Microsoft employee the official Xbox blogger can not talk about Xbox LIVE because of that class action lawsuit filed in Texas due to the outages over the holidays.
In his weekly podcast Major Nelson discusses how he can’t talk about the status of Xbox LIVE - and […]

CES: Microsoft Brings ABC’s Lost to Xbox Live
    Saturday, January 12th, 2008

Not only did Microsoft not unveil the rumored HD DVD-bundled Xbox system at CES this week, but the company announced they would begin offering TV shows and movies from ABC and MGM - two companies currently aligned with Sony’s Blu-ray.

Somewhere, a Toshiba executive is sitting in a park, watching the ducks and reassessing his life.

    The ABC/MGM […]

New Rainbow Six: Vegas 2 Trailer
    Friday, January 11th, 2008

The first Rainbow Six: Vegas brought us kick-ass FPS controls with a great cover system, an awesome twisty storyline, and a chance to run through our favorite Vegas hot spots with guns blazing while flinging grenades and ducking behind slot machines. You know, spring break-type stuff. This trailer for the next installment in the series […]

Soul Calibur IV Gets Star Wars’ Darth Vader and Yoda Characters - Pics & Video
    Thursday, January 10th, 2008

Star Wars fans are about to see either a dream fulfilled or to feel a crushing sell out. Roll the controversy.
Soul Calibur fans are about to get one new character to play. It’s either Darth Vader or Yoda, and only one because 1UP reports that Darth Vader is only available on the PS3 version of […]

As If Guitar Solos Werent Masturbatory Enough
    Wednesday, January 9th, 2008

The Guitar Hero Air Guitar Rocker reduces the monster hit games axe controller to a gawdy belt buckle. Players can frantically flick and fiddle with it, all the while looking vaguely like theyre well you know.
