The Australian copies of Medal of Honor Heroes 2 for Wii were missing support for 32-player battles as noted on the box, the game’s site, advertisements, etc. Now EA has finally admitted their mistake and removed any mention of multiplayer from their website. Via IGN, they’ve also announced refunds to anyone who purchased the game […]

PC Gaming is Dead: 2007 Sales Numbers (unless you play MMO)
    Tuesday, February 5th, 2008

Only one PC game in 2007 sold over a million units (and it’s name is Warcraft). The PC game take of $911 million is a lot of money, but console games had a record year and total sales of $17.94 billion. Another comparison, the #10 console game sold twice as many units as the #2 […]

    Sunday, February 3rd, 2008

The guys over at College Humor TV aren’t very good at Guitar Hero (it’s OK guys, neither am I). To make up for their poor playing they’re going to be mopping up the mess and leftovers from the Guitar Hero rockstars. Check out the Roadie Hero trailer above.

The only part of Super Smash Bros Brawl not in the dozens of game trailers that have hit North America is the incredible Final Smash attacks. Now that the game has been released in Japan (and handily sold 500,000 copies despite Nintendo’s distribution problems) the Final Smashes are all over the internet. They’re a bit […]

Big Brother Finds a New Weapon: Video Game Reviews for Parents
    Friday, February 1st, 2008

The internet stinks sometimes, but this isn’t a spam-blog or an ugly made by a friend-of-a-friend site. What They Play is a professional site built for parents, and it’s about video games.
The site reviews video games for all systems (Wii, PS3, Xbox 360, PC, & older consoles) and gives each a rating. None of these […]

    Zero Punctuation: The Umbrella Chronicles
    Thursday, January 31st, 2008

Resident Evil: The Umbrella Chronicles is a rail shooter. Enough said, I think. Rail shooters were fun when I was a kid in an arcade, but that’s because I liked shooting things from a first-person perspective. These days every other game is a kick-ass FPS that allows you to actually move your character around freely, […]

Super Street Fighter II (version 21, I think) Trailer on Wii Virtual Console
    Wednesday, January 23rd, 2008

There must be more than 20 versions of Street Fighter II by now. If you’re hungry for some classic 2D fighting gameplay and managed to scoop up a Wii in the past year, then the new characters in Super Street Fighter II: The New Challengers might be just different enough to make this interesting for […]

Wiimote as a Body-tracking, Multi-point Interface (aka, first version of the computer in Minority Report)
    Wednesday, January 23rd, 2008

Johnny Chung Lee is a smart, smart guy. He’s also got a heck of an imagination and some crazy homebrew skills. In the video below he shows how he’s hacked his Wii Remote to track hand and finger movements to make the on-screen display react to them. Looks a lot like the Minority Report interface […]

    Friday, January 18th, 2008

Queue yet another PR disaster buy-off from a big corporation, to the tune of $10 per cheated customer. Walmart priced preorders for Super Smash Bros Brawl at $19.82 last week. Not long after the pricing error was all over the internet and Walmart canceled all the low-priced orders.
Today Walmart announced a $10 gift card is […]
